Top government officials from Abu Dhabi were in Singapore from 6 to 9 January 09 for a four-day forum to exchange views with Singapore's senior officials on the increasingly complex challenges they faced and to discuss issues on public governance and best practices. Leaders from both sides also discussed strategies and government initiatives to deal with long-term global trends. Permanent Secretary of Public Service Division (PSD) & Chairman of Civil Service College, Ms Lim Soo Hoon, said that the Abu Dhabi Executive Leadership Forum was a unique opportunity for public officers from both countries to share perspectives on the public sector mindsets and reforms required to address the increasingly complex challenges that government faced. Ms Lim said that the exchange "stimulated a discussion on the processes and structures that Abu Dhabi was developing as part of its public sector reforms".
The delegation team also called on Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong and Defence Minister & Minister-in-charge of Civil Service, Teo Chee Hean as part of the programme. The forum was organised by Singapore's Civil Service College in collaboration with PSD.
