The Civil Service College (CSC) Singapore and the Directorate of Public Service Management (DPSM) of the Ministry of State President, Botswana signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 22 June 2009 to support the transformation of the Botswana Institute of Administration and Commerce to a full-fledged Botswana Public Service College (BPSC).
The MOU was signed by Ms Lim Soo Hoon, Chairman of the Civil Service College and Permanent Secretary of the Public Service Division (PSD), and Ms Pearl N. Matome, Director of Public Service Management at DPSM. Under the MOU, CSC would play a consultative role in supporting the establishment of BPSC and equipping it with competencies and information on Human Resource Development over the next five years. Both Colleges would also embark on exchange programmes and study visits to share experiences and ideas.
“We are pleased that the DPSM is looking to learn from our experience. Through this collaboration, we hope to exchange ideas and learn from them at the same time,” said Ms Lim shared in the media release statement. Ms Matome added: “We are deeply honoured by this opportunity to partner with CSC. The collaboration with a reputable learning institution like CSC not only marks the beginning of a closer relationship between the two Colleges but most importantly, enables us to realise our aim to set up a full-fledged BPSC.”
