Together with the Planning Council of the State of Qatar, CSC conducted a high level Scenario Planning Forum which was attended by Ministers, General Managers and Directors from various ministries and GLCs. This was followed by an intensive 3-days workshop for mid to senior government officials.
Both sessions provided an introduction and hands-on practice to Scenario Planning where it allowed the participants to:-
- understand the background, underpinnings and components of scenario and scenario planning process
- appreciate how scenarios are able to chart key uncertainties in the environment
- challenge our mental maps about the future
Both sessions were highly acclaimed where the Planning Council’s Secretary-General Sheikh Hamad bin Jabor Al Thani commented that the programme offered an excellent opportunity for the policy makers in Qatar to familiarise themselves with the Singapore-model of strategic planning
