The Civil Service College and the Public Service Division of the Prime Minister’s Office, Singapore, jointly hosted an Official Delegation from the Government of Punjab, Pakistan on 09 July 2007. The delegation, which was headed by the Chief Secretary Mr Salman Siddique, comprised of 10 Senior Officials from the Government of Punjab, Pakistan. On the invitation of Singapore’s Head of Civil Service, Mr Peter Ho, the delegation was in Singapore to:
• To learn more about Singapore’s public sector reform efforts;
• To discuss Singapore’s change management efforts;
• To understand Singapore’s experience in the financial, civil service and health sector reforms;
• To look at ways Singapore has encouraged private sector development; and
• To learn from Singapore’s experience in Training and Technical Education.
The Civil Service College is currently engaged in providing training and consulting services for the Government of Punjab under the umbrella of the Punjab Resource Management Programme. During the visit, CSC briefed the delegation on Human Resource Management in the Singapore Public Service as well as Service Excellence in the Public Sector.
