8 public officers from the Tanzanian Public Service Management, President's Office, attended a week-long programme at CSC to gain insights into Singapore's system of governance and administration as well as to understand the types of corporate support services within a government department. The programme also provided the participants with an overview of Singapore Public Service’s approach to achieve Total Organisational Excellence, and how ISO 9001:2000 standards is used to drive the establishment of service quality infrastructure in every department. The participants found the course to be an eye-opener as it exposed them to simple yet powerful tools to review business process improvements in their own departments. As put forth by one participant, "the course is useful for countries which are reforming public services, focusing on customer satisfaction."
